Workout #2 took place at Hart Park in Santa Clarita, CA. We walked from our work to the park, which is approximately a quarter mile, while carrying a 20 pound fitness ball. I had a very hard time walking there without having to stop to either catch my breath or because my lower back was hurting so badly.
Our workout at the park consisted of doing some exercises on the picnic tables and other exercises with the 20 pound ball. Our cardio task was to run up a large hill at the park on the hiking trail. I had to walk most of the time and I was only able to go about 30 to 50 yards up without gasping for air.
Although this workout doesn’t look as challenging to me now, it felt next to impossible at the time. I was so dangerously out of shape, and at the time, I began to doubt myself and wonder if I had it in me to continue. My trainer, Real Andrews, continued to believe in me and give me the encouragement that I needed to continue. He told me to just keep showing up and he will help get me through it. Turns out he was right. Coach Real is usually right! I am so glad that I kept going and even more excited to share my story with you!
